Basics of Gambling
When it comes to gambling it is important to bear in the mind the basic factors that surround any betting activity.
The first one relates to the game or event that is being wagered on. That game or event must avoid predictability.
The second factor is the amount of the funding available that can be used to bet.
The third factor is the odds that have been issued for that game or event. These odds have to be agreed upon by all parties involved. This makes the odds too challenging or unrewarding and they will not appeal to the prospective bettor.
All these factors are combined to attain an expected value as the amount wagered by each bettor results in the total pay out available.
The frequency of success is determined by the predictability. Times this by the payout and deduct the amount wagered and this results in the expected value.
